Partnerships in action to end trafficking of children and adolescents 

An estimate of 62% of victims of human trafficking are minors and the majority of victims are exploited for sex and labor. To cope with this worrying situation, the Cooperation Alliance for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (CPC), was signed between the government of Peru and the United States, the first of its kind in the Americas and the third in the world.

Within this framework, the “Alliances in Action project to End the Trafficking of Children and Adolescents” project comes about, whose objective is to improve the capacity of the Peruvian government to eradicate human trafficking. The project, executed by the ILO, in Cuzco, Lima and Loreto, has called Human Capital and Social Alternative to carry out the following interventions:

  • Technical assistance to the Multisector Commission and the regional committees against human trafficking for the implementation of national and regional plans in relation to the trafficking of children and adolescents.
  • Strengthening State capacities for the identification and care of children and adolescents within the framework of the protection system for victims of trafficking, at the national and regional levels with a Victim-Centered Approach (CVD).
  • Accompaniment of the processes of reintegration of victims of trafficking implemented by the State.

Expected results

  • Improvement of the understanding of the indicators of forced labor and trafficking for the purpose of labor exploitation
  • Improvement of the monitoring system, registration of cases
  • Skill building
