Down to Zero Perú Alliance

Down to Zero Peru Alliance
The Alliance Down to Zero is an association in favor of sexual and reproductive rights formed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Terre des Hommes, DCI-ECPAT, ICCO, Free a Girl and Plan – Holland. They work together in 11 countries to eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents through the empowerment of minors at risk and ensuring that protective environments exist.
In Peru, CHS Alternativo develops the project in Lima, Loreto and Puno – regions where tourism is one of the main economic activities. Loreto and Puno are located in border areas, where statistically the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents occurs more frequently.
Expected Results:
- Children and adolescents who are victims and at risk are empowered, act as agents of change and are able to protect themselves from being (repeat) victims of CSE.
- The target communities are safer, offer better protection to child victims and can prevent children and adolescents from being(repeat) victims.
- Government and judicial systems apply policies, action plans, budgets and protocols to effectively fight against child sexual exploitation.
- Market leaders and associated branches of the private sector industries are actively engaged in the protection of children and adolescents against CSE.
